Constellation Congratulates Sponsored Golfer Jim Furyk on Historic Score of 58
August 8, 2016
BALTIMORE (Aug. 8, 2016) — Constellation-sponsored PGA Pro Jim Furyk became the first player in PGA TOUR history to score a 58 yesterday, during the final round of the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. Furyk was already one of six golfers to shoot a 59, doing so during the second round of the 2013 BMW Championship, and is now the only golfer to shoot two rounds in the 50s.
“Constellation is excited to congratulate Jim on his historic performance,” said Mark Huston, president of Constellation Retail. “Jim is an exceptional competitor, and displayed steadfast confidence and consistency as he picked up 10 birdies and an eagle during yesterday’s record-setting round. We look forward to our continued strong relationship with Jim.”
Furyk has a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Constellation and has enjoyed a long relationship with Exelon, Constellation's parent company, serving as host of the Exelon Invitational tournament in Pennsylvania from 1999 to 2010.
The company’s relationship with Furyk is one of a handful of unique sponsorships Constellation maintains with professional sporting organizations including the NHL, PGA, and numerous MLB, NBA, and NFL sports teams.
