Regulatory Updates for Michigan
As Michigan lawmakers consider expanding the retail competition and customer choice load cap beyond the 10% that is currently in place, more businesses throughout the state have continued to show interest in reserving a spot to choose a retail electricity supplier.
We currently offer the Michigan Reservation Offering Program in the event that space under the cap expands. Customers that choose to participate in our program will be placed in a utility administered queue. In the event that the current cap expands, utilities will work through this queue on a first come first serve basis before considering other electric choice customer requests.
By securing your space in this queue, you are more likely to be enrolled for space under the cap with any increase. On the other hand, customers that choose not to sign up for a reservation offering program may find it more difficult to gain access if lawmakers choose to expand the load cap.
For more information about our Michigan Reservation Offering Program, feel free to call 312-704-9200 or email CNESalesMI@constellation.com.
About Choosing a New Energy Supplier
For a long time, only one company, a utility company, provided all aspects of energy services to businesses in Michigan. But in more recent years, states across the U.S., including Michigan, have developed competitive markets for energy services, providing the opportunity for energy suppliers to compete with each other over the price of energy to power your business.
Where this competition exists, there is potential opportunity for you to save money on your supply costs.
