We will proceed with a strategy that capitalizes on a freer, more competitive market environment. Our business model expands our client base to nearly three dozen states and three Canadian provinces and strengthens our customer focus effort.
Our generation fleet is strategically located in deregulated markets across the country, is diversified by fuel type, including nuclear, coal, gas and renewable sources, and is positioned to become a top- quartile performer.
Our marketing and distribution businesses compete in both regulated and competitive markets. Through BGE we distribute power and gas safely and reliably to Maryland customers. Through several unregulated subsidiaries, we have become the nation’s largest competitive supplier of power to utility, municipal, commercial and industrial customers.
We will remain diversified between owned generation, contractual generation, regulated distribution and competitive supply. By maintaining a strict discipline in deployment of capital, we seek to take advantage of our market awareness and strong capital position by adding to our portfolio all along the value chain (at right). This focus will provide ample growth opportunities along with stable and predictable earnings, cash flow, and dividends to allow for superior total returns for our shareholders.
