Emergency Zones, Evacuation Routes and Reception Centers
Calvert County (Zones 1-5)
Reception Centers & Mass Care Centers
If your protective action zone is evacuated, you should go to the nearest Reception Center. You would be registered at the center. Equipment would be available to check for contamination. Calvert County Reception Centers are located at:
- Calvert High School
Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick County - Southern High School
4400 Solomons Island Road, Anne Arundel County - Points south of the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant proceed to St. Mary’s County reception centers.
If necessary, an additional Reception Center would be opened at:
- Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department
Route 231, Hughesville (Charles County)
After registering and monitoring are complete at the Reception Center, evacuees who need temporary shelter would be directed to a Mass Care Center. Mass Care Centers are located at:
- Beach Elementary School
7900 Old Bayside Road, Chesapeake Beach - Huntingtown Elementary School
4345 Huntingtown Road, Huntingtown - Mt. Harmony Elementary School
9800 Mt. Harmony Road, Owings - Northern High and Middle Schools

If county officials direct residents to take shelter or to evacuate, the EAS messages would identify affected areas by zone number. Zone-specific information is below.
