Request Process: Banner Hanging
for Nonprofit Groups in Central Maryland

The following guidelines must be followed when requesting that a banner be hung. Constellation Energy, parent company of the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), reserves the right to refuse to hang any banner. All requests to hang banners are reviewed annually and will be evaluated like any other contribution request of $1,000, the current cost for BGE to hang a banner. Banners will only be hung as operating conditions permit even if prior approval has been given. In performing this in-kind service, the company will not compromise the safety of its employees or the public.

Eligibility

Nonprofit organizations located in Central Maryland (copy of IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit determination letter required).

Only one banner hung per organization per year (organizations with multiple agencies conducting fundraisers at various locations, dates, and/or times, must determine which branch will submit the request).

Purpose of organization/event must fit our priority focus areas of education, economic development, or environmental initiatives.

The banner must be in support of a fundraising event. (Requests for community service projects/programs or banners for recognition purposes cannot be honored).

The event must be non-commercial, non-political, and non-controversial as determined by Constellation Energy.

Only requests for pre-approved locations will be considered.

Requests for hanging holiday decorations, vertical pole banners, or flag pole assistance are not eligible.

Limitations: We do not consider requests from

Nonprofit organizations rated as 501(c)(4) or (c)(6) civic associations, volunteer fire departments, business associations and/or chambers of commerce, among others

Religious organizations requesting support for religious causes

Individual schools

Sports teams and leagues
