Constellation NewEnergy Enters Downstate Illinois Energy Market Alternative Energy Supplier Provides Competitive Retail Service in Ameren CIPS Area Chicago, Ill.- October 6, 2003 - Constellation NewEnergy, America's leading retail electricity provider, is now serving non-residential customers in the Ameren CIPS service area of Illinois.
After successfully supplying electricity to business customers in Northern Illinois, NewEnergy was recently certified by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) to begin offering competitive service to customers in parts of central and southern Illinois. â¬SThe new rules approved by the ICC this year are proving to be beneficial for electric customers in downstate Illinois,⬠explained Julie Hextell, vice president, Constellation NewEnergy, Illinois Region. â¬SNewEnergy is looking forward to providing the kind of flexibility and savings we have been providing for several years now to thousands of commercial and industrial customers in Northern Illinois.⬠In Illinois, NewEnergy is licensed, certified and bonded as an Alternate Retail Electric Supplier (ARES) and has sold electricity to Illinois businesses since deregulation began in the state in 1999. NewEnergy is one of the leading alternative retail electricity suppliers in Illinois, serving close to 4,500 ComEd accounts representing commercial, industrial, and institutional clients.
Customers include Hyatt International, Loyola University Medical Center, Art Institute of Chicago, Alberto Culver Company, Ford Motor Company, and Wendy's International.
