Constellation NewEnergy is the exclusive sponsor of the Green Zone at the Harrisburg Chamber Expo. The Green Zone promotes environmental issues prevalent in business today including energy efficiency and conservation.

Constellation NewEnergy will supply renewable wind energy certificates (RECs) to the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) for the 2009 Business Expo. The Green-e certified wind RECs from Constellation NewEnergy will match the electricity consumed at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center where the one-day expo will take place on Thursday, Nov. 12.

Constellation NewEnergy announced that businesses and public sector energy customers in the PPL Electric Utilities service territory may be in a position to significantly reduce energy spending for 2010 and beyond. In its most recent estimate comparing current competitive market prices to capped rates, Pennsylvania's Public Utility Commission (PUC) found that market costs are trending below the utility's standard rates. While market rates can and do fluctuate considerably, the PUC's price comparison illustrates that non-residential customers shopping in the newly competitive retail market may be in a position to save an estimated 10 percent to 12 percent on electricity costs.

Constellation NewEnergy commended the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for its proactive efforts to support the development of retail electric competition in the PPL Electric service area. The Commission's Order, issued today, begins the process of removing certain operational barriers for competitive retail electric generation suppliers, such as Constellation NewEnergy, to begin offering service and choice to customers in preparation for the expiration of rate caps at the end of 2009.

Constellation NewEnergy to Supply Electricity to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Government Facilities

Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. signed an agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to supply electricity to 29 Pennsylvania state government facilities. Constellation NewEnergy to Supply Electricity to U.S. General Services Administration

Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. signed the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to an electricity and renewable energy supply contract that will serve more than 150 federal agency and institutional customer accounts in Washington, D.C. Under the two-year contract, which was competitively bid by GSA, Constellation NewEnergy will supply 1.8 million megawatt hours of electricity per year to sites that include the U.S. Capitol, Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Institution, FBI and the Federal Reserve, among others. This includes meeting the GSA requirement to serve 5 percent of the total load with renewable energy or renewable energy certificates (RECs). Constellation NewEnergy will supply more than 90,000 RECs annually to these federal customers.
