CONSTELLATION, CHICAGO WHITE SOX STAGE ANNUAL "GREEN" GAME

August 20, 2012

CHICAGO (Aug. 20, 2012) - Constellation and the Chicago White Sox today announced the team's second annual "Green" game Tuesday, Aug. 21, against the New York Yankees, when electricity usage stadium-wide will be 100 percent offset by renewable energy certificates (RECs).

Constellation, energy provider to the Chicago White Sox and business and residential customers across Illinois, will donate RECs to offset electricity expected to be used at the well-attended evening matchup. The RECs represent the environmental benefits of electricity generated by wind, solar or other renewable power facilities.

To expand the focus of the team's environmental stewardship beyond U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox Volunteers Corps and volunteers from Constellation will meet from 9 a.m. to Noon Aug. 21 at McGuane Park in nearby Bridgeport to spread mulch at a playground and re-turf baseball fields.

"Environmental stewardship is important to our organization and our fans," said Brooks Boyer, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the White Sox. "Among the many ways we demonstrate that commitment is through our annual Green game and also by volunteering to improve McGuane Park and other parks and recreational facilities in our communities."

"Every White Sox home game is special, but we're especially proud of this one because we're helping the Sox achieve their strategy of lowering energy costs while enhancing sustainability," said Bruce Stewart, chief marketing officer, Constellation. "Constellation can help homeowners, municipalities and businesses save on energy bills in ways that advance environmental stewardship."

Constellation has been a leading energy provider to Illinois' businesses for more than a decade, providing power and natural gas to the state's largest employers, schools, hospitals and municipalities. The company is an emerging leader in residential electricity supply and now provides thousands of Illinois homeowners with low, fixed-price per kilowatt plans that can offer price certainty when compared to standard utility electricity rates.
