Community Champions Wanted: Constellation Residential Customers Can Support Their Favorite Local Project or Cause Through Company's New Grants Program

Baltimore (Sept. 19, 2013) - Constellation today announced its Community Champions Grants program which allows Constellation residential electricity and natural gas supply customers to nominate their local project or cause for grant funding. Up to $30,000 in funding is available for the initial phase of the program, which is open to Constellation customers in Maryland, New Jersey, Georgia and Texas.
Community-based efforts focusing on education, youth and the environment are eligible for funding. Designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are eligible for requests up to $500. Other community causes are eligible for requests up to $250.
“Empowering our customers to help make a difference in their communities can make a meaningful impact in the lives of people where we serve,” said Joseph Nigro, CEO of Constellation.

Deadline for submissions for the program’s first round of funding is Oct. 31, 2013. Grants will be awarded on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. Additional Community Champions funding and locations will be announced quarterly.Constellation serves an estimated 359,000 residential customers in Maryland, New Jersey, Georgia and Texas.
