BGE Home and United Way of Frederick County

FREDERICK, Maryland  (December 23, 2013) —  This holiday season, a Mount Airy family will receive a much welcomed gift - a new high efficiency heating and cooling system - through the “Gift of Warmth” program sponsored by BGE HOME and United Way of Frederick County.

Lisa Lavitt, a single mother who lives with her son, was nominated for the program by neighbors who have long admired her hard work and spirit in providing for her family.  Ms. Lavitt is a community volunteer.

“The chill of winter can be frightening for those without reliable heating and through the Gift of Warmth program we can help to ease that worry for a local family in need,” said Kevin Klages, president, BGE HOME.  “It’s a privilege for the entire BGE HOME team to be able to assist the Lavitt family.  Every day we strive to provide a comfortable living environment for all of our customers.”

This morning, a team of BGE HOME technicians installed a new high-efficiency Trane heating and air conditioning system at the Lavitt residence.

“BGE HOME is an active and generous member of the Frederick County community and we’re very grateful to them and also to Trane for developing and supporting this worthy program,” said Joshua Pedersen, CEO of United Way of Frederick County.

BGE HOME, a subsidiary of Constellation, is based in White Marsh, Maryland and has an office in Mount Airy. The company provides heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical sales and service. Product and service offerings also include appliance repairs, window and door replacements, and electricity and natural gas sales. BGE HOME serves residential and business customers throughout Maryland. BGE HOME is not the same company as BGE, a regulated utility.
