Constellation Receives Environmental Leader Product of the Year Award for Efficiency Made Easy
March 31, 2014
BALTIMORE (March 31, 2014) — Constellation today announced that its Efficiency Made Easy program received the Top Product of the Year Award in the Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards. Efficiency Made Easy gives customers in competitive electricity markets the ability to fund energy conservation measures, such as energy efficient lighting, building automation controls and HVAC upgrades, as part of their electricity supply bill.
“Constellation is proud to be recognized for our commitment to developing innovative products and services that help our customers better manage their energy use,” said Chris Cantone, vice president and general manager, energy solutions for Constellation. “Our Efficiency Made Easy program has funded more than $26 million in energy conservation projects. On average, customers have saved 21 percent annually in electricity use, as well as realized additional savings through water and natural gas conservation.”
Environmental Leader’s judges were impressed with the holistic approach of Efficiency Made Easy, noting that the program enables commercial customers to combine energy supply purchases with efficiency measures and encourages energy management technology providers to help their customers fund needed upgrades.
To date, Constellation’s Efficiency Made Easy has been implemented in more than 100 energy supply contracts in 12 states and the District of Columbia, for customers ranging from fast food franchises, auto dealerships and hotels to office buildings, hospitals and universities.
The Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards is a program recognizing excellence in products and services that provide companies with energy and environmental benefits, or in projects implemented by companies that improved environmental or energy management and increased the bottom line. Scores are determined by a panel of independent judges representing various companies and headed by Matthew Littlefield of LNS Research.
A NAESCO-accredited Energy Services Provider, Constellation and its fulfillment partner have assisted commercial customers and public agencies throughout the U.S. to implement energy efficiency programs.
