Constellation Employees Help Health Care For The Homeless Provide Essentials To More Than 400 Individuals With Second Annual “Free Market”
April 16, 2015
BALTIMORE (April 16, 2015) — More than 400 individuals experiencing homelessness shopped for essentials, including socks and underwear, travel-size soaps and shampoos, water bottles, and snacks today at the second annual Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) Free Market. The market was stocked and staffed by employee volunteers from Constellation.
“Today’s Free Market was a great success. With the help of Constellation employees, our dedicated staff members were able to meet some of the most basic needs of more than 400 of our neighbors without homes,” said Kevin Lindamood, HCH president and CEO. “Constellation is a model of corporate citizenship, and I thank the company and its staff for their continued commitment to the Baltimore community and, particularly, to the most vulnerable among us.”
Employees of both Constellation and co-sponsor Venable LLP donated hundreds of items for the HCH Free Market, and approximately 30 Constellation employees stocked the market and assisted individuals in finding items.
HCH outreach workers were also on hand to help enroll attendees in Medicaid and to provide information about a range of HCH and community services available to assist them.
“We are proud to support the vital mission of HCH whose tireless efforts help improve the well-being of thousands of individuals and families in Baltimore every year,” said Ravi Ganti, senior vice president and chief commercial risk officer for Constellation. “Constellation and our employees are committed to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve.”
HCH is in need of the following items of men’s and women’s clothing year-round. Items should be new and in their original packaging (size large and up unless otherwise indicated):
- Adult Size Socks
- Adult Short-Sleeve T-Shirts
- Men’s Boxers and Briefs
