November 19, 2018
BALTIMORE — Three families will receive a much-welcomed gift just in time for the holiday season — a new high-efficiency heating system — thanks to the “A Gift of Warmth” program sponsored by BGE HOME, United Way of Central Maryland, and United Way of Frederick County. Nominations are being accepted until Sunday, December 2. To nominate families in need of “A Gift of Warmth,” visit bgehome.com/warmth and share their story.
“The assurance of a warm home through the winter months is a comfort that cannot be overstated,” said Tamla Olivier, president & CEO of BGE HOME. “BGE HOME is proud to team with United Way for the fourth consecutive year to ensure deserving members of our community can count on reliable heating during the holidays and beyond.”
Homeowners in BGE HOME’s Maryland service territory are eligible. Winners will be announced in mid-December. BGE HOME, a Constellation company, and United Way have teamed up to help 13 families through the program since its inception in 2015.
“‘A Gift of Warmth’ is a terrific example of how BGE HOME shares our commitment to improving lives and communities,” said Franklyn Baker, president and CEO of United Way of Central Maryland. “United Way is proud to partner with BGE HOME so that families in need can stay safe and warm this winter.”
BGE HOME will also assist with select heating related calls to the 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline this holiday season. United Way’s 2-1-1 Helpline provides unique community information referral services to people in need of food, shelter, job resources, health care, child care and other vital services.
