Chicago Bulls, Constellation Team Up to Educate Elementary School Students on Energy Efficiency, March 14

March 14, 2018

CHICAGO Constellation, an Exelon company, is teaming up with the Chicago Bulls to provide educational activities on energy efficiency for students at William H. Brown Elementary, Wednesday, March 14.

Volunteers from Constellation and the Bulls will lead the activities, which will include appearances by Bulls legend Bob Love, mascot Benny the Bull as well as the Bulls dance team, the “Luvabulls.”

The energy efficiency-focused lessons come in advance of the Bulls ninth annual “Go Green” game, set for Saturday, March 17, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Select William H. Brown students with exemplary attendance records (and their families) will receive tickets to the game.

Fans entering the arena will receive a reusable Bulls-branded water bottle presented by Constellation, while supplies last.

Throughout the game, energy tips from Constellation will be shown on the scoreboard to educate fans about how they can be more energy efficient. To celebrate the night, Constellation will supply Green-e Energy Certified* Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to match the electricity use during the game with energy generated from environmentally responsible renewable resources minimizing the carbon footprint of the game.

Baltimore-based Constellation has powered the United Center since 2009. The energy provider also supplies power to the Bulls and Blackhawks practice facilities.

“Constellation is proud to continue its longstanding and impactful relationship with Chicago Bulls,” said Mark Huston, President, Constellation Retail. “Our connection to the Chicago area extends beyond just serving as the power provider for the United Center. We’re committed to giving back to our communities and, in this case, grateful for the opportunity to educate students on the importance of energy efficiency.”

* Green-e Energy certifies that renewable energy certificates meet the minimum environmental and consumer protection standards established by the non-profit Center for Resource Solutions.
