Kate Norman

Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Risk Officer, Exelon Corporation


Norman leads the risk management function for Constellation and Exelon Generation. As a member of the Constellation Leadership Committee, Norman is responsible for the identification, assessment, and monitoring of Strategic, Financial and Operational risks, and the communication of those risks to the Finance and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors.

Professional History

Previously, Norman was Vice President, Wholesale Trading, where she directed the management and strategy of the Southeast, ERCOT, Environmental, and Proprietary Trading portfolios.

Norman joined Constellation in 2004 as part of the Origination team before transitioning to the Wholesale Trading organization for a 14-year period. Her experiences include positions on the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and international trading desks in the gas, power, capacity, coal and uranium markets. While leading those trading books, Norman helped to drive strategy for the company while also focusing intently on enhancing collaboration between cross-functional groups, including the Fundamentals, Regulatory and Generation teams.

Prior to joining Constellation, Norman was an analyst at Morgan Stanley.

Civic Involvement

Norman serves on the Women’s United Executive Council for the United Way of Central Maryland and is an advisory board member for the Baltimore chapter of Urban Alliance, which creates opportunities for under-served high school students to hold internships at local companies. She is also a member of the Investment Committee for the Calvert School in Baltimore and serves as the executive sponsor for the Baltimore Leadership School for Girls’ (BLYS) math tutoring program, which connects students with female employees from Constellation and BGE. 


Norman holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.


Kate and her husband, Matt, live in North Baltimore with their two girls and two dogs.
