Q: What year was Constellation incorporated and in what state? When did Constellation become the holding company for Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE)?

A: Constellation was formed on Sept. 25, 1995, in Maryland. On April 30, 1999, Constellation became the holding company for BGE and its subsidiaries following the approval of a share exchange by BGE shareholders. In connection with the share exchange, shares of Constellation common stock were listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the stock symbol CEG.

Our roots trace back to 1816 with the Gas Light Company of Baltimore, now known as BGE.
